We were finally able to leave the hospital on Friday! I can't tell you how nice it was to finally sleep in my bed!
My back is killing me from the hard chair I had to sleep in for the last, almost week.
And Hailey was so happy to be home!
She is doing alot better. We still have to give her treatments every four hours even at night and she is on Prednisolone for 20 days. and if any of your kids have ever been on that, you know that it is an extremely long time! But she was extremely sick! She looses her temper really fast and she is very emotional. So it's a little rough to deal with but I am just gratefull that she is ok. She also can get sick really easy. She doesn't have much of an immune system.
I have become a germaphobic! Everytime we walk into the house we sanitize! I also found out that cleaning chemicals like bleach are bad for asthma, so I am converting to more natural cleaning suplies. Anything I can do to prevent this from happening again I am going to do!! It's flu season right now so I'm a little more carefull about where I take her. And if I do take her anywhere I use the sanitizer wipes, and we sanitize her hands all the time! I know I'm crazy but can you blame me???
I found out something interesting tonight. I looked up the cough medicine that the ER PA-C gave hailey. (They gave her Promethazine with codine) and it says not to take if you have lung problems/ asthma! yikes! I told her more than 1 time that hailey had asthma. I'm going to the doctors tomorrow and I'm going to ask if that could have caused her severe flare up. I'm really curious. we'll see what he says. They Doctors in Tucson said they didn't know what caused her to get so bad. They tested her for RSV and everything else they could, and all of them came back negative. So I'm curious to find out if maybe the cough medicine triggered her attack.
Well the Hospital stay was long and not fun but for the most part the nurses were good. All of the Respatory Therapists LOVED Hailey because she did so good with her breathing treatments. There were ALOT of kids there with respetory problems and most of them scream and just hate treatments, but Hailey held the mask on her own and would thank them after it was done! One of the RT's told us that they fought over who was going to take care of Hailey! She did really good especially with all the medicines that she had to take.
I have pictures but they are on my small camera and I can't find the USB cord thing to download them on my computer. when I find it I'll post some pictures.
Thank You all for your Prayers, Support and willingness to help our family. We really appreciate all of you!
