A BEAR!!! in Thatcher!

The cops chasing the bear across the highway!

Yep it's true!  Wednesday moring me and cami were almost home from our walk and a cop car pulls over. He asks us if we had seen a bear. A BEAR?? at first we thought he was joking, but soon relized he wasn't. He told us to be carefull and to go home. so cami ran home and as i turned the corner to go to my house I see a truch stopped in the middle of the road right in front of my house. I started to freak out because I thought to myself this guy see's the bear! I was so glad a cop car pulled up to me, and I tell him I think the bear is right up there and sure enough it was! So I walk up and the Sanders and the Wrights were in the back yard of our neighbor across the street looking at this bear!! Holy smokes! crazy huh.

The cops had him contained. They had their riffles out just in case but they were waiting for Gaming and Fish to show up with the tranquilizer gun.

I wish I had my camera then because the bear was seriously right there. As soon as I went home to get my camera, the bear started jumping fences into other peoples yard and then it was hard for me to get a good picture. It was fun, We pretty much had our own little 4th ward party outside trying to catch a bear at 6 in the morning!  The Larsons had all their kids and horse across the street! The bear stayed pretty much in that area for about 20 min. Then it went into my next door neighbors back yard and started jumping fences. There was a point where I couldn't get to my house because the bear was right there.

By this time my kids and Matt were watching from Austins bedroom upatairs. They were worried for me because I was outside! (cute)

By this time it had already been about 30 min. since the cops got there. The bear took off jumping fences and actually crossed the highway! I jumped into the Wrights van and we followed the Bear. I still hadn't got my picture yet! It was fun! we all just couldn't belive that we were chasing a bear! After about and hour and 15 of cops chasing this bear from yard to yard, they finally tranquilized it and caged it and shipped it off!!

I still can't belive there was a bear in town. It was a pretty good sized bear to! I wish I would have gotten a better picture! but by the time I had my camera the bear was constantly on the move!

I can't imagine what all the teachers and kids thought when my kids went to school saying the had just seen a bear!!!! I'll bet alot of people didn't believe them!

I wish I had the time to see the bear passed out and getting loaded. but my kids needed to get to school. But the Wrights have some pictures of it up on facebook. you may have already seen them!

What an Adventure to remember!!!
