I'v been thinking alot about this the last couple of months and especially when Hailey was in the hospital. I have always, I think, have had faith in my Heavenly Father. I have had faith to be heald and faith that things would always work out. Even my Patriarical Blessing says that I do. I know, and have faith, that My Heavenly Father knows what he's doing and will answer my prayers.
But at what point does faith turn into "Thy Will be Done"? In the Hospital, I prayed that Hailey would get better. I prayed REALLY hard for that. Then I prayed for peace and comfort becasue I was honestly scared. I had Faith that Heavenly Father would make her better. and for the first couple days of praying, I was still really scared. I realized that I needed to pray for peace regardless of what was going to happen. I prayed that whatever was going to happen I would be able to handle it.
After I had said "Thy will be done" I felt more comfort and peace than I had felt before. But I was Questioning my Faith. I knew that it was in the Lords hands but I felt that by saying, Thy Will be done I was loosing Faith. I still wanted to have that Faith that she could overcome this illness.
I have Always been taught and I KNOW that the priesthood is powerfull. I have had many Priesthood Blessing, but I also have been taught that you have to have Faith that you will be healed. I also realize that we don't always get the answer that we are looking for. I have be trying, in my Prayers, to always say "Thy Will be Done" does that mean that I am giving up? Because thats how I feel. I especially felt that in the Hospital with Hailey. Can You still have Faith that something will turn out the way you want it to, and still be able to say "Thy Will be Done"? Or do they go hand in hand? It has been something that I have been thinking alot about. How do you feel? I would honestly love to hear your thoughts, so maybe I can better understand.

I feel that "Thy will be done" sometimes takes more faith because you are accepting His will no matter what. You have faith that the priesthood does heal, but also faith to accept. Sometimes there is a bigger plan that we don't know about and that is where we need to accept. I hope this makes sense.
What a great thought- Something I myself have been struggling with. We have a lot going on in our lives, and both Michael and I tend to have to feel like we're in control to not FREAK, and everything tends to be SO stressful this way...
I think to say "Thy will be done", and to REALLY MEAN it, takes a massive amount of faith. But I also think it depends on the purpose of heart. If you're saying "Thy will be done" in contempt of heart, you're basically saying, "Whatever. Just do whatever you want and I'll just deal with it later." It's almost as if you're rolling your eyes to the Lord and still saying you know better and that things should go your way, and because they're not you're frustrated at Him. I think that can cause huge, deep spiritual scars- Some that I'm ashamed to admit I have to work on. But if you humbly, and honestly have faith in Him as our Savior, that he truly does know all things, and approach Him with the spirit of "I'm weak, Lord. I don't have the strength, I don't have the knowledge. Here's all that I have, and it isn't enough- I'm dedicating this offering of my heart and handing it over to you...You are wise and all of thy things will be for my good." And truly understand that He loves us and wouldn't dare do anything that WOULDN'T be for our good- THEN you are saying "Thy will be done" with full faith of heart.
Thanks Sarah! I needed that...
i feel like there the same thing. putting faith in God doesn't mean you're going to get the answer you want. saying thy will be done is the purest and most sacred relationship that mankind should have with their Heavenly Father. Putting your faith in God and submitting to his will regardless of the outcome is one of the hardest and yet most rewarding lessons that we as his children need to learn. Putting all your worries and fears in his hands brings the ultimate comfort that he will take care of you and that your will and his will can become one. This is easier said than done but the awesome thing is that it is promised to us if we do the work necessary to be given such wonderful faith. I believe your fatih has been tried and tested and is a lesson for all of us to be someone strong like you.
love ya!
