Memorial Day Merrell Family Reunion and Catwalk

They are all the same age and grew up together and were good friends, they still are =)! The Fam! we look grose! we should have taken theses after church! Nathan Austin & Hunter The pictures are a little out of order! Evey year on Memorial day weekend we have our Merrell Family Reunion in Alpine. Its Matts Grandparents. They are amazing people and it is such a fun reunion!!! There are a ton of families and a ton of people! My kids love it because matts uncle brings up golf carts and the kids drive them around everywhere ALL weekend long!!! at first I was a little worried because little 5 year old kids were driving them but it was ok. THey actually did pretty good. my kids were on those golf carts at least 5 hours a day if not more!!. The trail doesn't go very far and it kinda just circles the cabins so you can see them all the time! Every year we have a family auction to pay for the food and lodging. How it works is everyone brings things to donate to the auction and then start the bidding wars!! Its neat because they have 2 auctions and adult one and then one for the kids. In the adult auction for instance there were old photos of grandma and grandpa and the kids in really nice frames, and matts unle john is a photographer and he took pictures of the temple and framed them. We donated a tree and a flower hanging basket. We actually won the bid on a backpack guitar. Matt loves it! Its a regular guitar only a little smaller and easier to handle. For the kids auction we walked away with some flashlights, cloring stuff and a cute little handbag that our aunt Colleen made. It was lots of fun! Its always nice to get out of town and just relax. We played a few intense games of "Nerts" and ate tons of food. All in all it was a good time!! Thanks Merrell Family! On our way home we decided to go to Catwalk. Its only about 30 min from Alpine on the way home. YIKES am I out of shape!!! being out of shape and pregnant does not make for a very enjoyable hike! It was really pretty though. We went with Clyde and Michelle and there family, Matts cousin Christine and her boys and Christines sister Roma and her family!! it was lots of fun and I plan I going again when I'm not pregnant!!!
